<itunes:summary>Social Media is like art… there are no rules! It's shotgun blasts of information that are splattered on a wall to see what sticks. People create and upload content for others to see, and the emotions it creates when seen and heard. The hosts, Graeme and Ian, want to inform our listeners what we have learned in the Social Media world, and hope to also learn from the listeners, as well.</itunes:summary>

This the first ever episode of Social Media, What?! Each episode your hosts, Graeme of ITRadio and Ian of StudioZeroSeven, will cover different topics and how they impact with Social Media… even if they don’t always know what they are talking about. This week Graeme and Ian cover the basics of this new project, and how music and Social Media have become integrated by people like you.

Discussed in this show: Graeme and Ian admit they are not experts at Social Media even though it controls 80-90% of their life, trying to define Social Media, Social Media is really a hippie colony, micro blogging as a form of Social Media, music and Social Media, the first social networking environment ever, how Graeme first got involved with Social Media, people are loyal to specific Social Media sites, using different clients to update all of your social sites at once, Graeme and Ian compare and discuss the Social Media clients they use, going through Social Media withdrawal, Ian uses big words like sociological that Graeme doesn’t understand, the difference between real life and internet social interaction, fans using band websites to interact with each other, Graeme hates Perez Hilton/TMZ type sites (but still goes to them), Social Media sites and how they integrate music [Myspace Music, Facebook, Bln.kr, Twitter, (and all their pros and cons)], Ian wants to show you all his love for Bln.kr, Graeme needs a vest and pocket protector to code flash, Ian cues up his Mtn Dew can because Graeme doesn’t know how to explain whatever it is he’s talking about, making your Social Media sites less confusing, Ian doesn’t want to give his photo ID to Facebook to set up a music page but wants an “Owned by Facebook” tee shirt, ripping apart and getting input on your web design, audio is Ian’s life, and Graeme won’t give some kids their five minutes of fame.

Videos brought up on the show: Social Networking Wars and Twouble with Twitters

Graeme and Ian want you to know that they are not experts and want your input on this podcast or anything else you see on the site. Put your Social Media/New Media and general social interaction to work! Get in touch and send them your feedback!
